GOLF TOURNAMENTS

By building the dunk tank fundraiser into the actual game play of the tournament, it is possible to dramatically increase the funds raised by your tournament!  Here’s how:

A dunk tank (sponsored by the tournament organizers or other sponsors) is set up between the 18th hole and the clubhouse.  When signing in, golfers are advised that the tank will be there and that for every successful dunk, they will be allowed to take one stroke off their score!  (This particularly appeals to participants who are better softball players than they are golfers!)  We suggest either $5 or $10 for five balls, depending on the tournament.

Since most tournaments are shotgun start, everyone finishes the tournament at the same time, and we run the dunk tank from the end of the tournament until dinner was served – typically, a total of about 90 minutes to two hours.  The very first time we tried this, we raised nearly $600 to add to the tournament proceeds; this represented a nearly 25% increase over what the tournament would have made without the dunk tank!

The role of Tom Clowncy & Friends is to provide the “dunkees” for the dunk tank.  We can wear our usual dunk tank clown outfits of colourful bib overalls, regular golfing attire, or something else specific to the tournament (i.e., a tournament sponsored by a construction company asked us to wear shorts and yellow mesh safety vests like we were the flag-persons on a road crew, while an event sponsored by the Senators Foundation saw us getting dunked in Habs jerseys!)

If you’d like to look further into boosting the proceeds from your tournament by adding a “Stroke-Saver Dunk Tank”, just click the "Get in Touch" button below to start the conversation!
